Need to Mock Up a New Website? This SAAS Might Be the Help You Need

moqlogoI found this Software As A Service (SAAS), Moqups and thought I’d share it with my geek readers. It lets individuals or even teams come together with ideas that are easy to mock-up for website flow. It takes flow charts to a new level.

Sadly, they do not have a free version, but they do let you try out the service before you make the plunge. Considering how much time (and time is money) this system can save you in developing a new site, it is relatively inexpensive… with plans at just $9/mo.

Created strictly in HTML5, no special plugins are required to use the site, but Moqups does have an extension to Chrome available to further its functionality. 🙂

The video below shows a bit how it works. If you’re into web development and having to work with a team, or you need a website developed and want to be able to communicate your vision with your developers, this is a tool worth examining.

You can learn more from their website, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channel.

Phantom-Drone-2Have you ever thought about how cool it would be to have a DJI Phantom 2 Drone with GoPro Hero 4 to film your dog catching a frisbee or to document some other cool project you’re working on? Or maybe you’ve got a DSLR, but you’re just not sure about spending $2k on a better lens right now… what to do? Everyone in your office is doing the summer workout challenge. Do you get the Jawbone Up, the FitBit or something else? Who wants to keep buying exercise bands at $200 a pop?  Lumoid is the answer. The folks at Lumoid will rent all kinds of professional and consumer level stuff you want to use, but aren’t ready to commit to – all at very reasonable prices.

These are really good deals for professionals as well. Not ready to invest $10K in camera gear for the wedding you’re shooting next month for just $1K? You can rent all the cameras, lenses and lighting equipment you need, by the day, from Lumoid and the prices are surprisingly reasonable.

Canon70-200About to make an epic small film? You’d love to use the Epic Red system, but at $30K, it’s not going to happen. If you’ve got your shooting schedule pretty tight, you can rent the system for less than $700/day. You don’t have to buy the cow to get the milk.

They have bundle packages where you can rent several personal fitness trackers at once so you can find out from personal experience which is the best one for you instead of just reading other people’s experiences and reviews.

You keep hearing about how super sharp Canon’s L type lenses are. But $2500 for a lens? You’ve got that trip planned for Labor Day weekend – why not rent the lens for $16/day plus $9 insurance and take it for a spin?  Lumoid also sells its used rentals and even new items at steep discounts.

Google Glass – you know you want to try Google Glass. Everyone does… but unless you’re rich and/or on a special list, you’re not holding your breath. Well boom – you can RENT Google Glass for just $18/day. Their rentals are a 3 day minimum and the daily rate goes down the longer you rent it. You can also rent to buy.

Check out Lumoid on Facebook, Twitter and their website.
